And now for something completely different...

This is the first Warhammer figure I painted. It's a Swordmaster of Hoeth from the Island of Blood set. It's the "biggest" figure I painted so far. I'm looking forward to hear any criticism, advice etc.

In the mean time, I'm working on a huge 1:72 scale diorama. Hope to share some photos soon.

  1. The figure looks very good, I can't find anything to criticize. One thing you might consider though is a dab of gloss varnish on the jewels. They are well painted but a little shine might make them pop more. Feel free to disregard.

  2. Nicely painted... very clean Style and smooth shades. Only the Gems could need some more shadow in them. (typical way to paint Gems: start with Black, add some small Highlights at the Bottom of the Gem and finally add a reflectionpoint painted with white at the upper side of the Gem)

    1. Thank you. I'm working on a huge one now (relatively). It's name is "Escape From Mutant Island or How I Stopped Worrying and Simply Massacred Historical Accuracy" :)

  4. Hello there, I know it is a bit late to comment here but I won't be rude to hide this on some later posts :) I have nominated your blog on this Liebster Blog Award thing, please follow the link to see more about it.

  5. Sorry for not responding to your nice comments in tim. I neglected my blog :) And yes, Wiking and Sean you are both right about the gems. I wanted to finish him and share photos as quickly as I can. Sometimes when I work for too long on a figure, I get bored of it. Like the Prince on Griffon I'm currently trying to paint. Sharing results has the effect of a good Hollywood style motivational speech on me :)

  6. Beautifully done. Do more, my own experience with fantasy figures has been good fun and a break from the historical types.

    1. Thank you. I want to do more but recently I'm drown in work, which is a good think I guess since I was unemployed for so long :) I decided to build a Warhammer Empire army.
